That team is better than you think. I expected it'd be a close one that either could win, and as it turned out, he took it by the smallest possible margin.

i disagree his opponent didnt get penalised enough for how he has been training his players. just another reason this game is flawed, players that train for maximum stat gain witout any more risk of injury than others is wrong. they should be penalised heavily either by tripling the injuries they get or in game play! a player not 100% fit doesnt play a 100% so it should cascade once their energy drops not just after 90%

This is taken directly from the FAQ

Maximum: +10% to +15% of training points, -8 to -10 energy and 4-5% chance of injury
High: +4% to +10% of training points, -4 to -6 energy and 3-4% chance of injury
Average: no training points bonus, no energy bonus and 2-3% chance of injury
Low: -4% to -10% of training points, +4 to +6 energy and 1-2% chance of injury
Very low: -10% to -15% of training points, +8 to +10 energy and -1% chance of injury
Note! No matter how skilled physios you have, there will always be a 1% chance for your player to get injured.

It looks like Växjö has played about 25 weeks on "normal" training and two weeks on "high" training. His harder training could have been one season ago for all you know. His average player has maybe 20 training point per week, two weeks on "high" training has added about 0.03 to one of his skills. Its NEGLIGIBLE!
So all he got from this is a penalty. He had been better off without it.

You, like me, is aware the simulator punishes this behaviour way more than one benefits from it, so like me, you havent done it. Still you're complaining they arent punishing it ENOUGH.

There is only one way of efficiently playing the game, and that is to have "normal" training all the way. yet in real life the periodic heavy training followed by lighter training is the most efficient way. I had found it amiss to allow several efficient ways of playing.

If anything, the simulator is giving YOUR way, which is also MY way, an unrealistic advantage. Växjö manages without taking advantage of this unrealistic advantage you and I got.
Växjö has apparently found things to offset this disadvantage he gets from having trained too hard, so congratulate him instead. As soon as he rests his player back to 100%, he'll become a really dangerous opponent.

Vaxjo was the example. yes he may have trained on hard infrequently but overall for teams that do it all the time the benefits outway the chance of loss. i dont really care if he trains all day on hard 8\10 times it will hinder him. i still think injuries should be increase for training on hard. maybe not for 1 week but continuous weeks.

1st season cup finals was just before round 18 in league. As there is 128 teams left in cup, we'd play finals after 6 more rounds (or 7 rounds total left in cup) and have finals before round 16. So look for another "rest" week that the final could be played before round 18 on 15th of June.
