I started about week ago. After reading several materials I chose sponsors, clicked on Upgrade arena and added 200 normal and 50 VIP seats. For more I don't have finances, but I understood that all free money should be invested into arena to have bigger income sooner.
Then spent several hours to study about my players, promoted one of youngsters and set my squad. My first league match in bot league away ended with win- so I probably picked right players for right positions? Actually I don't know much about handball, I am more like football (soccer) specialist. Maybe it was just one of weakest bots as many users said in forum that they lost their first league match and it's normal.
Now I checked my economy tab and there was no sponsors. Do I have to choose new ones after every league match?
I have checked also histories of highest leagues and it seems like it's similar to Hattrick that most of teams reach to peak and then fall within some seasons couple of levels down to start rising again. Very few teams can keep their level for longer period.
It's also interesting to see if here is more Estonian managers. Local forum has been quiet 3 years and there was topic that we needed just some more managers to get NT, but probably they never got it. None of those posters has now active and they never reached to top levels, only at first seasons couple of Estonian clubs played in second league.

Welcome to the game

As you say you've read a lot and you've found this forum I assume you've read the sticky thread "read this before you do anything" in this forum - if not read that too (even before you read the rest of my comment - I've been playing this game slightly superficially, but still I can give you a little help)

About the sponsors: on the sponsor page - there a two sections. On the top you choose a sponsor for the season - you get three choices. Which you should choose depends on how you think you are gonna perform over the season: one gives a high weekly bonus and a low victory bonus; one is the other way around and then there is "the middle choice" as you're in a bot league I'd say choose the one with the higher victory bonus (if you are afraid you are gonna miss a lot of lineups then maybe consider the middle sponsor, explanation later). Remember to make this choice in every season break)

You also choose matchday sponsors (in the bottom section of the sponsor page) and those you should choose after every match (also after friendlies, not just after important matches)

As I'm a former hattrick player; I'd say there some major differences in the concept. Bot teams here can be stronger and it's important to still make a lineup.

Injuries happen on Mondays not during the matches - beware if you have an injured player in your starting line up - you're gonna play with a bot formation. (This game don't just choose another player for your injured player)
(This is why I said if you're afraid you're gonna miss a lot of lineups then consider "the middle sponsor" - you could still go for the one with the higher victory bonus though)

If you've set a default line-up you still have to actively pick it for every match you want to play with that line-up. If you neither choose it actively nor make another line-up you'll play with a bot formation.

Well...my team is actually still quite terrible, if they lose to bot 13-27(13-18) which means they couldn't score a single goal on second half with set lineup. Or it's just me, who just doesn't know enough about handball and after reading manual and forum still placed his players to wrong positions.

Hi dude
IMO it would a great idea to buy a goalkeeper. In such level having Gk with stats like 7-10(I mean -> technique, agility, reflexes, one on one, because these skills are the most important for Gk) is a magnificent investment
It will be able to lose fewer and fewer goals by your team with Gk. You shouldn't buy this one with a high salary, but sb with 3-4 k payout per week. Trust me, it's better to buy Gk in your case than spending a lot of money for guys with 10-12 shooting who will cause you go broke

Regards

At first I should earn some money at all

My positions distribution is mostly based on this:
Attack:

Winger: Speed, Shooting, Jumping (maybe of the ball)
Centre back - Playmaker: Playmaking, Passing, Technique
Left/right Back: Shooting, Jumping, Passing
Pivot: Strength, Off the Ball, Agility

Defence:

Goalkeeper: one on one, reflex, agility
Outside Defender: block, marking, speed, agility
Line Defender: block, jump, strength
Half Defender: marking, jump, block
Forward Defender: marking, speed, blocking

but this is from quite start of game, so maybe it's outdated now? It's very long topic I calculated sums for every positions and then picked best ones by this. As I understood, skill value 5 is quite awful, but these are best that starting team has.

And I don't understand about training system at all.
Probably I should hire coach with much better skills, but this would bankrupt me quickly. Focusing on any skill would be waste of training points, so it's better to choose All skills?
As every player needs to play both in defence and attack, so is it better to concentrate on their weaker half?
Probably I should sell someone who is too weak comparing to others, but nobody would want them, are there at least bots who can buy my players or bank? And I don't know their actual market value to for adequate asking price. Is there any fee for putting player to market? If I put asking price 1000 maybe it will eat all I could earn. My team history shows many players sold for 1000, so this is probably their right price too?

It will be damn difficult to climb up from bottom mud layer. My arena has now 3000 seats but for next upgrades I have to pay over 400K, before can add any seats and currently I have barely 150K only. No trainers as I saw what they will cost, so my players will not develop too? Here are no bots buying your crappiest players even for 1K, so only way is to fire them. Players with biggest talent have also worst skills and rating.
After some corrections in lineup I have won couple of more games, but most of bots are still too strong for me. Probably I'm one of worst ever managers in THB history

If you have a young talented player (~20 years and ~4.5 stars rating) you can sell it for a very large amount of money. Your coaches are still too weak to train such players. If you don't, you will have to wait a long period to gather enough money to pay for better players. For now, just focus on gathering money and upgrading your hall.

Just for some motivation, getting a 21k arena doesn't have to be really slow. If you focus almost entirely on just seats and arena upgrades (like I did), you can do it in about 18 months after creating your account. The game really starts after that.

Ragnarök Reykjavík returns.

It means then 5 seasons sitting here in bottom league and losing to bots...very attractive perspective. After that you may to earn enough money to buy trainers and some better players and other facilities. Maybe I can pull even some decently average "village boy" but can't train him better that he could be worth anything more than 1K.

Hmm I think you are close to the point But, but, but... everyone else who is on the top has walked through that.
