I don't really get this 40 year old superplayer-thingy?

They've got top rating, but are usually still as bad a players as any new team.

It only takes a month or two, then you are as on pair in the league with your new team, even if you can lose against "good" bots still.

I meant that even several NT-s are crowded mostly with players around 40 as age will not decrease their skills enough. Here was couple of months ago some problem that if it would be changed some smaller NT-s wouldn't be competitive any more. If I remember correctly there was Bosnia as example.
Meanwhile I remember that talent is the limit determiner for skills, so it's little bit confusing that it's not possible to grow up next generation of players. If they are in enough developed teams with good coaches they should reach to peak in normal age, not after 30. Even I have several players with skills over 10 and I improved my coaches quite recently, so they had most of their career very weak coaches. I'm starting to grow up next generation piece to piece.

My advice is to invest in your own youth players. Keep players with talent 4-5, with good work ethic, and sell bad ones. Depending on region, you will play in division II or III.
Every season try to upgrade your training staff and facilities.

And thats it, keep grinding and dont bother with buying overpriced "top" players.

You are helping your NT and your club in the long run.

Yes, but Estonia does not have a national team so it means he will train players for 10-12 seasons, and they will play only 2-3 seasons while they are in the top form.

But because the game has just a few of us active, it's the most profitable way of doing things. It's not worth it to do it any other way, because going to the market to find any player of interest is a waste of time as there are usually only a few and they're quite old.

Well, my plan has been anyway at first to go with 100% homegrown players as far as I can. Currently I see that I can reach to II division one day. Surviving there will be different question ofcourse. Today I'm safely in the middle of most crowded D.III group in region, but it is loosing active members: at the end of previous season there was prediction of 6 active teams, but 2 turned early to bots and another hasn't logged in 3 weeks, so I won him last week because his bot lineup. In my possible D.II group are currently 2 bots so it's 2/3 chance to get another bot for next season and upcoming teams from D.IV are all bots too. So I have probably 3-4 more peaceful seasons before danger of next promotion.
My coaches are all at 15(positionals) or 10(technical and physical) and my budget is in slowly positive movement.
As I already convinced youth academy is not worth its expences, fitness centre has impact only to physical skills training, but I'm currently training only positional skills, so both facilities are quite bad investment atm. Arena is already big enough or little bit too big, fanshop is fully upgraded.
So it seems to be time to collect money and give playing minutes for some younger prospect as I'm 99% safe already.

New season is starting and it should be relatively silent one for me. Aiming to fight for places 3-5 as one human manager was promoted and replaced with former top league team once survived there, now bot that looks stronger than another bot I lost previous season. Against lower half bots I try to give experience to younger players, maybe risking to lose some points, but I must rely more on younger players who have bigger part of their career under better coaches. I have enough time in League III to grow up better generation that would one day maybe keep me in League II as Estonian best placings are 7th there on very first seasons (well, then League IV was populated too possibly).
So I have my plan(100% homegrown team) and I'll experiment with that, how far it will carry. If I see there is big in front of me and no improvement would help then it will be time to change something and buy some talent in, but until that I can collect money as no facility upgrades needed in nearer future(arena is big enough, fanshop is fully upgraded and no point to invest into youth academy or fitness center). There are enough things to learn about tactics etc

After yesterday's win against team I lost first match it smells like promotion to League II. Very possibly I'll go down directly as currently it would be 100% human league. But it's interesting to test how miles away I am from that league level and how attendances will change. After years Estonian club again in League II where they were on some first seasons. But then probably end of League III were stronger than current League II.
After relegation I probably will sell most or all of my older players(who got weaker training on first seasons) to make room for younger generation in first team. Still with my 100% homegrown players. Probably I'll be never top league material with my zero knowledge about handball tactics, but at some day surviving in League II would be nice achievement too.

Most people here don't know too much about real handball tactics. It is enough to read the game manual, and some threads in this forum, and that's enough for playing in the top league. You just need better players - with all attack/technique/defense skills above 18, and that's pretty much that simple.
