Cape Town - Cape of Good Hope
In South Africa it's known as the Mother City, founded in 1652 it's at the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian oceans.
Popular touring destinations include Table Mountain (has a greater variety of plantlife than the entire British Isles), Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela spent over 20 years in prison), Cape Wine route (some of the best wines in the world are produced here). You can also visit and shop at the V&A Waterfront and Canal Walk and visit the many beaches (warning - the water is freezing).
As far as sports go:
Western Province - the most successful rugby team in South Africa (founded in 1883) known by their distinct blue and white striped hoops and their exciting attacking style.
Cape Cobras - South Africa's dominant cricket franchise and also make up the majority of the national team, one of the best cricket clubs in the world.
Unfortunately handball is virtually non-existent here which is why I signed up for an Angolan team. |

Why aren't you proud to represent your country ? Even if you're alone, why choosing the neighbor country ? |

South Africa isn't in the drop-down list when you select a country when registering, Angola is the nearest country in the list. Strange that SA is a country in gridiron, but not in teamhb. |

Yes, it's strange... Did you ask the admins why you couldn't choose your country ? |

I'm not bothered, turns out my Angolan players are good at handball. |

South Africa also has quite a (not all too nice) history with the Netherlands, where I'm from. Do you speak Afrikaans? For dutch people it's quite a funny language (dutch people can understand Afrikaans pretty well).
Cheers,

Haha, dan kunnen we verder praten in het Nederlands / Afrikaans en de rest voor de gek houden :p
(Haha, then we can talk further in Dutch / Afrikaans and fool the rest :p)
This was my first and last (partially) non-english post on the international forum |
