I've been here for three months now and over that time I've collected quite a bit of very talented players. However, reading the forums has raised a question in my mind.

Which is more important talent or height?

I've read that there may be some sort of penalty for players under 190 cm and some sort of bonus for players over 190 cm.

If true then which type of player would be more valuable:

1) 4.5* talents between 183 cm and 187 cm, or
2) 3.5* or 4* talents over 190 cm.

Is more valuable talent , height only influences according to which play field position ...
For example , if end is better more quietly

Talent does not infect players abilities over all. It just limits the maximal skill level a player can reach.

Physical skills are limited by a secret value higher or equal to 11 (except stamina that always can reach level 20).

All the other skills are limited by talent by the following formular:
max_skill_level = 10 + 2*talent

So if you had two identical, equivalent trained players but one with talent 2* and the other with talent 4*, the first one is able to reach skill level 14, while the other can reach 18.
Despite that disparity both would be absolut eqivalent as long as they stay under the level of 14, i.e. assuming both identical players with different talent have all skills at 10 and shooting at 14 they would perform absolut identically in matches no matter the one has much higher talent. The only difference would be, that the second player could increase shooting up to 18 while the other already has reached his limit. So talent does not affect performance in general, it just sets an upper bound to future performance abilities.

You forget to say that talent also define the limit for the evaluation parameter, which is very important.

Well yes, that's correct. But why is this "very important"? Performance depends on the skills (and on tension level, and maybe hight, and - as may be the case - on special trait, and work ethic and aggression). Talent can be deduced from the evaluation parameter, that's the only right to exist for this thing.

Uh ? Performance depends a lot from Evaluation.
With equivalent skills, Evaluation will make a huge difference.

What do you mean with evaluation? A players rating, shown by the stars everybody can see? If so, I still think this has no effect on performance. Where did you get this information from? Maybe I am wrong!?

Or do you mean experience? That effects performance indeed.

Yes, I mean rating.
Well, I couldn't even tell you where I got this information, it was for me something known by every manager, one of the first things you say to a newbie.

Nobody over div IV cares to keep/buy a player with a rating under 3,5, and it's not because of the skills limit.

I guess that you have such a good team that you want only players that can reach high skills (which means high rating), so you aren't concerned, but just ask to other experienced managers.
